Established in 1989 under NPE-1986, DIET Sheikhupur (Kapurthala) is a leading teacher training institute in Punjab. Affiliated with SCERT Punjab, it operates under the Department of Education, Govt. of Punjab, providing quality training for primary educators. Located on Kapurthala-Sultanpur Lodhi Road, it continues the legacy of Government Janta College in teacher education.

District Institute of Education and Training Sheikhupur (Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab), a premier Institute of teacher education in Punjab. We work under the guidance of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Punjab. We not only take measure of the educational needs and requirements in our Distt. Kapurthala, we have contributed to the state programmes and projects like Curriculum development and Action Research etc. as well. We proudly specialize in Action Research, content generation and publication. Our students are imparting their teaching services in most of the districts in Punjab and we are proud of their achievements too.
