The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Sheikhupur (Kapurthala) was established in 1989 under NPE-1986. Earlier there was Government Janta College at the same place imparting JBT course for primary teachers. It is situated on Kapurthala-Sultanpur lodhi Road at 5 Km stone from the city centre. This Institute works under Department of Education, Govt. of Punjab and is affiliated to State Council Of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Punjab.
